The growing season in the Northeast has gotten off to an incredible start. The weather has been warm...or hot I should say and just enough rain has kept everything green and growing. Last year's chamomile crop reseeded itself and came up this spring with a great deal of success. It is currently in full bloom. This year the row is about 100 feet long and 5 to 6 feet wide. Seeing all of those chamomile flowers has put me in the mood for a soap in its honor. What I normally do with the chamomile is infuse it into olive oil and use it in various soap recipes. I may also use ground chamomile buds in bar soap this year also.
