My best guess is around November 10th. I'll post updates here whenever there is news to report and if there is going to be any anticipated delays. Please bare with us.

Return of Carrot Seed Calendula Shampoo Bar

I have had a lot of requests to bring back the carrot shampoo bar. I think it took a long time to catch on. So, I have a batch curing right now that will be ready in a couple of weeks. It will appear on my Etsy store first, I'm not sure if I will post it on my main website. For all of those who wanted it...thanks for waiting!

New Lotion Containers

It's been a long time coming, but I have wanted to change my lotion containers into a smaller size and simplify my line of lotions. The reasoning behind the change is to have the lotion containers be FULLY recyclable, convenient and easier to ship. The new containers I am trialling are 4 ounces, sleek and simple. They are a #4  plastic for recycling purposes. The dispensing cap is a flip top that is no fuss, yet secure and will not open accidentally. I have not shipped any yet, but the idea is that one bottle and possibly two bottles will ship first class mail, which is a very economic method of shipment.

Here is a sneak peak at the new containers:

The Growing Season So Far

The growing season in the Northeast has gotten off to an incredible start. The weather has been warm...or hot I should say and just enough rain has kept everything green and growing. Last year's chamomile crop reseeded itself and came up this spring with a great deal of success. It is currently in full bloom. This year the row is about 100 feet long and 5 to 6 feet wide. Seeing all of those chamomile flowers has put me in the mood for a soap in its honor. What I normally do with the chamomile is infuse it into olive oil and use it in various soap recipes. I may also use ground chamomile buds in bar soap this year also.

Sugar Scrub Scents

There are so many choices when it comes to what scents to choose for scrubs. I would like to hear what you think. Vote on a scent I have listed and/or post your thoughts in the comments area. Would love to have your feedback. The scents I currently make are: blueberry, yuzu vanilla, and lemon sugar.

Summer Scents and Poll Results

With the incredible weather we have had in the North East for the past week ( after the flood that is ), I can't help but think about the summer soap scents. I am working on the favorites: Ocean Air, Mint Mojito & Hawaiian Sugar, and Fresh Cucumber. I would also like to do some new scents this year. There have been multiple requests for a coconut verbena lime soap, like what I make in the foaming bath salts. So, I would to try that this year. Also, I might try a pear glace soap this year. It seems to be a very trendy scent that the major companies make. It is a very fresh and yummy fragrance.

The poll results for a new soap scent... Honey and Eucalyptus as well as Bergamot and Geranium were front runners. I will have those coming up this spring.

On that note I will also be discontinuing some of the soaps that never seem to be all that popular. Certain customers have asked me for them as I've attempted to phase them out. But I think it is time to say goodbye to:

Amber Musk
Orange and Cardamom (trial soap that seems like a dud)
Mucho Mango
Almond and Honey
Natural Buzz

Out with the old and in with the new. Any other soap scent suggestions welcome.

New Products in the Works

I have formulated a great body frosting recipe and will be posting it on my Etsy shop in the coming weeks. Because I make such small batches I will only be able to do a couple of scents. Lilac has been popular at my craft shows with this product. So, I will probably be making it in that scent for the spring. Lemon sugar has been my " go to " scent with most of the new products because it sells out in every product at the shows. Most likely that will be the second scent I will do and then we'll see what's next.

SUGAR SCRUBS, SUGAR SCRUBS!! Well, I've been doing salt scrubs for a while now, but haven't posted them online in my Etsy shop or my main website. The feedback I have been getting is that everyone would prefer sugar scrubs because they are more gentle on the skin. So, I am currently formulating a sugar scrub recipe...I think I'm on the right track with it. I will keep you posted with the progress. Hopefully I can have some to post on Etsy by the end of the month...no promises.

Finally, I will have the return of a specially formulated lotion that I called "Island Cloud". The scent blend I used for it wasn't for everyone, I liked it, but it was an unusual blend of essential oils. What I am going to do with it is change the scent to oakmoss and sandalwood. Very light and soothing scent for this lotion. The blend of oils and butters that I have used will remain the same. Coming soon to a website near you :o)

That's all for now...thanks for stopping in!

With Vernal Visors On

The beginning of spring is a curious thing,
not long ago there were piles of snow,
now in a flash comes a carpet of grass,
sprouts and buds and all kinds of green,
like Winter to Summer and no in between.
there is much to be done, no time for fun,
soap to be made and gardens to spade,
yards to rake and lotions to make,
In like a lion and out like a lamb,
time to wake up and get with the program!

With the onset of spring comes a flood of new ideas and things to do. I have many new soap scents in mind for this year. I would also like to expand my current lotion line with new scents as well. Keep a lookout for a poll to select the newest soap and lotion scents...this makes my decision making so much easier. I can never decide for sure what new soap scents to make. The usual m.o. is to make something new and see how it goes at my next event or farmers' market. I think it's time for something a little more efficient. So, I will be launching a viewer's poll so that everyone can vote on what they think would be good. I have some seasonal scents in mind for summer that I haven't done yet. Can't wait to see what everyone wants!
